Registration and Monitoring
PHARMACIST AND PHARMACY TECHNICIANS
All staff who access patient data undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) or equivalent screening check when they start employment, with follow-up checks every three years. Staff members who have direct contact with patients receive an enhanced screening. Every Assist GP employee, including self-employed contractors, signs a confidentiality agreement as part of their contract.

Assist GP completes the Data Security and Protection Toolkit annually, in line with NHS standards. Confirmation of our compliance is available on the NHS Digital website.
To ensure robust management of information risks, we have appointed a Senior Information Risk Owner, a Caldicott Guardian, and a Data Protection Officer. We handle personal data according to the NHS Code of Practice for Confidentiality and adhere to the National Data Guardian's 10 data security standards.
